How to Play Craps

Select a chip value from the bottom of your screen to place a bet. Then, click on the preferred area of the table to position your chip. Once your bets are placed, hit the ROLL button to throw the dice.

The rules of Craps

The initial dice roll in Craps is referred to as the "come out roll." The primary wager placed before this roll is the "pass line bet." This bet wins instantly if the shooter rolls a 7 or 11 and loses if the result is 2 (snake eyes), 3 (cross eyes), or 12 (box cars). If the shooter rolls a 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10, that number becomes the "point." The puck marked ON is positioned over that point on the table. The shooter then continues rolling until either the point number or a 7 appears. Hitting the point again results in a win for the pass line bet. Rolling a 7 before hitting the point again means the bet is lost ("seven out"). To settle the pass line bet, the shooter must land either the point or a 7 following the come out roll. Craps rounds can extend indefinitely if neither the point nor 7 appears. Pass line bets remain active until resolved and cannot win until the point is hit. Players must wait for one of these outcomes to determine the result of their pass line wagers.

Betting

Before rolling the dice, you can place your chips on any available area of the craps table. First, choose the chip value you want to bet from the screen's bottom panel. Then, click on your desired betting zone on the craps table. After placing all your bets, press the ROLL button to proceed.

Pass line bets

A pass line bet is made on the PASS LINE section before the initial dice roll, known as the come out roll. You win this bet if the roll is 7 or 11, and lose if it’s 2, 3, or 12. If a 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10 is rolled, that value becomes the "point." To win, the shooter must roll the point again before hitting a 7. If a 7 appears first, the bet is lost. Winning bets are paid at even odds (1 to 1). Once a point is set, you cannot remove or lower your bet. Only a 7 or the point will resolve it.

Don't pass line bets

This bet is the opposite of a pass line bet and is placed on the DON'T PASS BAR before the come out roll. A roll of 2 or 3 wins; a 7 or 11 results in a loss. If 12 is rolled, the bet pushes and is returned. If the result is 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10, that number becomes the point. After that, you win if the shooter rolls a 7 before rolling the point again. If the point comes up first, the bet loses. Winning don't pass line bets also pay even money (1 to 1). These bets can be removed or reduced while active, unlike pass line bets.

Come bets

A come bet is placed in the COME area on the craps table after a point has already been established during the come out roll. The mechanics of come bets mirror those of pass line bets. You win the come bet if the shooter's next roll is a 7 or 11, and you lose if it’s a 2, 3, or 12. If a 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10 is rolled, that number becomes the come point. The dealer then shifts your come bet from the COME bar to the top-left portion of the box for the corresponding number. To win, the shooter must roll the come point again before a 7. If a 7 is rolled first, the bet is lost. Bets stay active until resolved by rolling the come point or a 7. These bets can't be removed or reduced while unresolved.

Don't come bets

A don't come bet works in contrast to a come bet. It's placed in the DON'T COME BAR after the come out roll has already taken place. You win this bet if the shooter rolls a 2 or 3, but you lose if the result is 7 or 11. A roll of 12 results in a push, and your bet is returned. If the shooter rolls a 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10, that becomes the come point. The dealer moves your don't come bet to the top-right section of the number’s box. You win if a 7 is rolled before the point; you lose if the point is rolled first. Don’t come bets remain in place until resolved, but unlike come bets, they can be removed if still unsettled.

Odds bets

An odds bet is an extra wager that can be placed on top of a pass line, don't pass line, come, or don't come bet. The highest allowable odds bet is 3x your base wager.

Pass line odds bets

Once your pass line bet is in place and the point is established, you can add an odds bet by clicking to the right of the PASS LINE area. If this odds bet wins, payouts follow true odds: 2:1 for a 4 or 10, 3:2 for a 5 or 9, and 6:5 for a 6 or 8. Unlike standard pass line bets, unresolved odds bets can be withdrawn.

Don't pass line odds bets

When your don't pass line bet is active and a point is determined, you may place an odds bet by selecting the right side of the Don't Pass Bar. True odds payouts are 1:2 for a point of 4 or 10, 2:3 for a 5 or 9, and 5:6 for a 6 or 8. These bets, if not yet decided, may be removed.

Come odds bets

Once a come point has been set, you can place a come odds bet by clicking the lower-left corner of the same zone as your come bet. Valid come points include 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, and 10. Winning bets pay at true odds: 2:1 on 4 or 10, 3:2 on 5 or 9, and 6:5 on 6 or 8. These odds bets, unlike the base come bet, can be removed. If the point is rolled during a come out roll, this odds bet doesn't win and is returned.

Don't come odds bets

Once a don't come point is set, you can place an odds bet on your don't come bet by selecting the lower-right area of that same field. For come points of 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10, winning don't come odds pay true odds: 1:2 for 4 or 10, 2:3 for 5 or 9, and 5:6 for 6 or 8. Unsettled don't come odds bets can be removed.

Field bets

A field bet is placed before the dice roll and wins if the outcome is 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11, or 12. This wager is positioned in the FIELD section of the craps layout. Rolls of 3, 4, 9, 10, or 11 pay 1:1, while 2 or 12 pays 2:1. If the result is 5, 6, 7, or 8, the bet loses.

Big 6 and big 8 bets

A Big 6 wager pays even money if a 6 is rolled before a 7. Similarly, the Big 8 pays if an 8 appears before a 7. These bets are placed in the designated 6 or 8 boxes on the left side of the table. Both bets can be removed before resolution. The bet wins if 6 or 8 shows up before 7.

Place bets

There are two categories of place bets. A place win bet pays if one of the following numbers appears before a 7: 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10. This bet is placed below the matching box labeled "PLACE YOUR BETS." Payouts are: 7:6 for 6 or 8, 7:5 for 5 or 9, and 9:5 for 4 or 10.
A place lose bet wins if a 7 is rolled before 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10. It’s placed in the upper narrow bar labeled "PLACE YOUR BETS." Payouts for winning place lose bets are: 4:5 on 6 or 8, 5:8 on 5 or 9, and 5:11 on 4 or 10.
Place bets are not active during the come-out roll.

Buy bets

Buy bets are placed when you believe that 4, 6, 8, 9, or 10 will land before a 7. These bets go on the left side of the top row in the narrow strip aligned with the chosen number on the craps layout. Payouts follow true odds: 6:5 on 6 or 8, 3:2 on 5 or 9, and 2:1 on 4 or 10. A 5% commission is applied only when the bet wins. Buy bets remain valid during the come-out roll, though unresolved ones can be taken down.

Lay bets

Lay bets are the opposite of buy bets—you’re wagering that a 7 will appear before 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10. These are placed on the top right section, above the number boxes on the table. If your lay bet wins, payouts use true odds: 1:2 for 4 or 10, 2:3 for 5 or 9, and 5:6 for 6 or 8. A 5% fee applies only if you win. Lay bets stay active during come-out rolls, but can be removed before resolution.

Any 7 bets

This wager predicts that the next dice roll will total 7. It’s placed in the "Seven" section and pays 4x your stake if successful.

Any 11 bets

An "Any 11" bet is a one-roll bet that wins if the result is exactly 11. It’s placed in the section with two dice adding to 11 and pays 15:1 on a win.

Any craps bets

This bet covers the numbers 2, 3, or 12 on a single roll. It’s made in the "Any Craps" zone and returns 7:1 if one of those numbers is rolled.

Horn bets

Horn bets are single-roll wagers predicting the dice will land on 2, 3, 11, or 12. The bet is placed in the section showing dice totals that match those values. If 3 or 11 is rolled, the payout is 15:1. Rolling a 2 or 12 pays out at 30:1.

Hardway bets

Hardway bets are made on doubles—2+2, 3+3, 4+4, or 5+5—being rolled before a 7. These are placed in the box with illustrated dice matching those combinations. Matching a number with a double is considered hitting it "the hard way" (e.g., 4+4 = "hard 8"), while mixed combinations (like 6+2) are called "easy". Wins pay 7:1 for 4 and 10, and 9:1 for 6 and 8. You may remove unresolved hardway bets.

Betting limits

The minimum limit is set at $1.00 for all bets. The maximum limit for the table or any one bet is $100.00 with the following exceptions:

Bet Maximum limit
Any Craps $65.00
Any 7 $49.50
